We love you all so much that we hope you will join us for the entire weekend. While there will be many festivities to enjoy throughout the weekend, we know that it’s not often you get to sight-see in Washington, DC! The Fairmont Hotel is located in the West End, and is walking distance to a plethora of delicious restaurants, the National Mall, fun shopping, and the Metro. If you are willing to hop in a cab or take an Uber, the options are endless.
Metro
The Fairmont is only 4 blocks north of the Foggy Bottom Metro station on the Blue and Orange lines. If you are headed to a destination on the Red line, Dupont Circle is a slightly longer walk.
Exciting Edibles!
Blue Duck Tavern
American fare, beautiful ambiance.
Rasika
Beautiful Indian small plates, featuring both traditional and modern food.
Bread and Chocolate
Bakery, pastries and cafe!
Founding Farmers
Contemporary American cuisine. Fresh, flavorful food, large menu, and amazing cocktails. (One of our favorites.)
Things to do in DC with your Free Time!
Museums: Any Smithsonian Museum is going to be a great time (and free)! You can find out about hours and getting round at their website. Of course, particular favorites include The Air and Space Museum, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. If you are in DC on Friday night, we would highly recommend going to jazz in the sculpture garden. It’s a lovely evening!

Newseum: The Newseum is a great exploration into journalism. Highly interesting, though not part of the Smithsonian system so there is a small cost involved. http://www.newseum.org/
Spy Museum: The Spy Museum is exactly what it sounds like. We won’t ask if you went or not! It is also not part of the Smithsonian system, so there is an entrance fee. http://www.spymuseum.org/
National Mall: One of the great parts of DC — Monuments, Museums, Marble! What more do you need for a lovely walk??
Here is a sample jaunt you can take (which you can shorten or lengthen as you feel interested):
